Our stories help us remember how history unfolded and they help us recognize the patterns of violence that still persist.
To those of us who are refugees, immigrants, or descendants of them: remember why our families had to leave their homelands. We are here because the people before us dared to dream and took action for a better world for us to live in. We should never have to be displaced from our homes twice.
We can break the patterns of violence that continue to harm us and we can protect one another. Whether it's giving to mutual aid, showing up to peacefully protest, holding government officials accountable, or sharing hope, safety, and courage within our communities, each of us has a role to play, shaped by our individual and collective skills, capacity, and stories.
How can each of us contribute to stopping history from repeating itself?
